A Day in the Life!
We went to The Boulders climbing gym in Saanich last weekend for the Canadian Western Youth Regionals. Kinsey spent the weekend with Grandma. Marie, Kyle and I caught the 9am ferry to Victoria on Friday morning. They added some adult categories this year so I got to compete as well. Kyle and I both topped our first qualifier on Friday afternoon. After climbing on Friday we headed out for a quick bite to eat then back to the hotel to get some sleep. Saturday was a long day. Kyle’s second qualifier was at 8am and our semi didn’t start until 8pm. We both made finals. That wasn’t too hard for me, there was only Marty and me in my category. Kyle had 16 kids in his category, so to finish top 6 and advance to finals was fantastic. Half of his category is a year older. Marty beat me and got even for the comp in December. Kyle climbed very strong on his final route and finished 3rd. Next stop Nationals!
